Around 250 Exhibitors from 24
Countries including host India
showcased the potential of
the Packaging Industry at
INDIAPACK 2006 during 11-14 December
2006 at Bombay Exhibition centre,
Mumbai. The Indian Institute of Packaging
had organised INDIAPACK
2006 exhibition, envisaged as a catalyst
for the development of the Packaging
Industry covering Machinery,
Materials, Product Packaging, Conversion,
Labelling and Allied sectors of
the Packaging Industry.
Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, Hon’ble
Minister of State for Food Processing
Industries, Govt. of India addressed
the exhibitors at INDIAPACK 2006 Exhibition
on 11th December 2006 at a
special gathering. Earlier President
World Packaging Organisation
Mr.Keith A. Pearson inaugurated the
exhibition at 10 a. m. at Bombay Exhibition
Centre, Mumbai in the presence
of Captains of the Packaging Industry
from India & abroad.
The display at INDIA PACK 2006
highlighted the core packaging and
growth areas in metal, glass, composites,
paper & board plastic, flexible
packaging, industrial product packing
& packaging services. The Participants
Countries included Australia,
Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil,
China, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan,
Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia,
Mexico, Russia, Singapore, Philippines,
Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan,
Turkey, U.K., USA, Vietnam and host
country India.
The added attraction at
INDIAPACK 2006 was the participation
of the State Govt. of Uttaranchal
as Focus State, State Govt. of Andhra
Pradesh as Partner State and State
Govt. of Maharashtra as Host State.
WICMA participated under the
banner of CORPEX to give the Exhibitors
and Visitors greater opportunities
to know Paper packaging & Corrugated
Manufacturers from India and
abroad to interact on a common platform.
The event was designed to assist
the Packaging Industry to keep pace
with the demand by introducing the
latest in packaging technology-high
speed machinery and equipments leading
to substantial increase in productivity
on the one hand and on the
