Stretching the Frontiers of Plastic & Rubber
Taipei Plasí04 Opens a New Era

China External Trade Development Council (CETDC)

Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry

This biennial show is now gearing up to stage its best this March 18 to 21 at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall One and Three.

Taipei Plas ‘04 (The 2004 Taipei International Plastic & Rubber Industry Show) is organized by the China External Trade Development Council and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry and leads the way in quality and innovation.

This event will build upon the triple digit growth recorded in the first half of the previous year. Export earnings in that year went up 0.67%, chalking up US$700 million in plastics and rubber machinery industry exports. Taiwan is now the world’s fourth largest producer of plastics and rubber processing machinery and one of the world’s top producers of ethylene.

The Taipei Plas’04 Networking - At its Best

With more exhibitors and an even wider range of products, Taipei Plas’04 will stage its largest range of opportunities. A record 350 exhibitors are getting set to use 1,800 booths to highlight their best at four days that bring it all together.

This event brings into play an 18,422-sqm venue that offers Asia’s best selection in the trade. Both buyers and exhibitors know that this event offers excellent networking opportunities to plug into Taiwan’s strong satellite subcontracting system that reaches into the most remote corners of the industry.

Foreign exhibitors come from numerous countries, such as Hong Kong, China, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Thailand. Buyers like dealing with Taiwan because they get reasonably priced spare parts and servicing without the “surprise” glitches found elsewhere. They know that Taiwan firms now offer “German Quality at Asian prices” – a factor that’s underscored by the nation’s soaring global exports.

Taiwan, today exports the same quality crafted extrusion screws and computerized controllers that it once imported! China sees it as its top supplier of plastic and rubber processing machinery - and export growth to the Middle Kingdom is still significant.

Taiwan’s flexible cooperative managerial manufacturing systems coupled with its competitive pricing helps explain how Taipei Plas has become the “Needed Event” for regions that range from China and Southeast Asia to South America and India.

A Full-window Event

This event offers a complete window with show categories ranging across every facet of the trade, including:

  • Plastic & Rubber Processing Machinery
  • Injection Molding Machinery
  • Blow Molding Machinery
  • Extruders
  • Printing Machinery
  • Engineering Components
  • Auxiliary Components
  • Semi-Finished & Finished Products
  • Raw Materials

The event also has a Foreign Exhibits Section.

Global Attraction

With the edge on price and quality, Taipei Plas 2004 will draw buyers from the farflung world of plastic and rubber that stretches across Asia, North America, Latin America to Oceania and Africa.

Plasto-2003: A Review

Plasto-2003 was held at Sakhar Sankool Bhavan, Pune, between the 18th and 21st December, 2003. “Plasto”, a national level Techno-Polymer exhibition, was first organised in 1989 at Pune. The exhibition received an overwhelming response from Trade & Industry. This encouraged the exhibitors to hold another exhibition in 1993 on a larger scale, which received better response. Such a national level exhibition was held again in Pune by APP after a gap of almost a decade. The availability of petrochemicals in abundance, global advances in technology and development of infrastructure, has taken this sector for quantum leap in consumption of plastics. Opportunities for growth, development of new products, and substitution from other materials to plastics coupled with versatility, adaptability and flexibility of polymers have encouraged many entrepreneurs to jump into the plastics industry.

The exhibition was an attempt to bring together various manufacturers and buyers concerned with plastics. The exhibition was an excellent opportunity for all the participants to display their technology, products and services to existing and potential customers and also....
