ICPE Stand on Maharashtra Government’s Rules
TICPE is not convinced that Plastics Carry Bags were grossly responsible for the floods in Mumbai on 26th July, 2005 as alleged. In fact, several technical committees have submitted their reports on the above subject and none of them has blamed plastics carry bags as mainly responsible for the flooding of Mumbai suburbs. ICPE continues to hold the same view though ICPE agrees with the Government that there is a pressing need for collection and disposal of plastic waste in a more effective and scientific manner. Notwithstanding ICPE’s misgivings on the premise on which the above notification has been issued, ICPE would like to submit a few observations on certain clauses of the notification which are technically impracticable and difficult to implement. Development Trends in
Plastics Injection Moulding Machinery and Processes

- N. K. Balgi
President & Director, Ferromatik Milacron India Plastics Technology Group, Milacron Inc., USA

Innovations in polymer processing machinery, moulds and peripherals continue at a great speed. Newer concepts, newer processes, fresh applications are show-cased at major industry exhibitions which are as frequent as once a year.

The progress of human race has come through the actions taken for meeting a need or responding to an adversity – imminent or anticipated. Plastics are one such man-invented material that has become an integral part of human life. Starting off as a substitute, it has now become a primary material of construction in range of forms and structures. Basic needs to comforts of life are all provided by plastics. The story of evolution continues.....More>>

Staying Fit for
Global Moulding Demands

-S.Seshadri Nagarajan Manager- Application Engineering Plastics Processing Machinery Marketing, Larsen and Toubro Limited -LTM BU

The injection moulding machine unlike earlier days is not just the machine tool that injects the melt into the mould and ejects the part after cooling. The machine should be a source of strength for the shop floor supervisor.

Increasing demands on moulding in terms of meeting the technical and commercial targets is pushing the injection moulding process to its performance limits. There is a definite need for getting the best output from every machine put into use, every granule dropped into the hopper, every unit of power from the grid and every man-hour that is paid by the employer. Bettering the efficiency has become the prerequisite of every moulding shop manager. There is a compelling need for detecting the problems as when it crops ... More>>
